The story of the Breizh Café Cider Bar begins in Japan. In 2012, just a few steps from the Breizh Café crêperie in Kagurazaka, Tokyo, Bertrand Larcher opened a cider bar in a former traditional Japanese inn, a “ryotei.” At a time when cider was still largely unknown in Asia, this cider bar became a true ambassador for Breton heritage. It helped introduce people to the richness of the cider-producing regions, the expertise of the producers, and the diversity of artisanal cider.

Located in the heart of Saint-Malo, the iconic pirate town on the Brittany coast, the Breizh Café Cider Bar invites you to discover a unique venue dedicated to the art of cider. Just a few steps from the city walls, our new location opens its doors on Friday, July 3, and celebrates Breton cider-making expertise in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The Breizh Café Cider Bar showcases a carefully curated selection of pear ciders, farmhouse and artisanal ciders, and vintage ciders from the finest cider houses. Ciders with character, exceptional vintages, discoveries from passionate producers, and gourmet pairings are offered to provide an authentic experience centered on this iconic heritage.

Designed as a place for sharing and discovery, our Cider Bar also offers a menu of seafood snacks—Cancale oysters, Morisseau mussels, Breton sardines, smoked fish—and land-based treats: buckwheat chips, hummus made with vegetables from Ferme Breizh Café, and pork slabs. A menu of buckwheat galettes and wheat crêpes will also be available, inviting you to explore Breton culture in a new way.
